The Korea-Africa Foundation participated in 「GITEX Africa 2025」, Africa’s largest ICT exhibition, held in Marrakech, Morocco from April 14th to 16th, to support the entry of domestic ICT startups into the African market.
Now in its third year, GITEX Africa is the African regional edition of GITEX Global, the world’s largest information and communication technology exhibition held annually in Dubai. With participation from over 1,400 companies, 650 government agencies, and more than 350 investors, the event reaffirmed global interest in the African market.
The Foundation operated the Korea Pavilion for promising domestic startups selected through the 'Korea-Africa Unicorn Acceleration Program', supporting participation in the IR pitching competition (Supernova Challenge) and business meetings with local buyers and investors to explore practical pathways for Korean companies to enter the African market.
Participating in the exhibition were seven companies: ▲EKLEER, a smart display solution ▲Bodit, an early detection and precision farming solution for livestock diseases ▲Purple Education, providing digital learning content on global issues ▲Cast, a sterilization solution for sustainable distribution of water, food, and energy ▲Sherpa Space, a smart irrigation and pest management solution for smart farms ▲Movements, a smart construction management solution ▲H2O Hospitality, a digital transformation solution for accommodation and leisure facilities
During the exhibition, the participating companies achieved tangible results including ▲signing of PoCs, ▲cooperation MoUs and LoIs, and ▲awards in the pitching competition. This served as a meaningful opportunity to establish a bridgehead for entering the African local market.
