2025 Korea-Africa Unicorn Acceleration Program Performance-Sharing Seminar

  On Tuesday, May 13th, the Korea-Africa Foundation held the 『2025 Korea-Africa Unicorn Acceleration Program Performance-Sharing Seminar』, sharing the achievements of participating startups in their efforts to enter the African market.

  This program was designed to support Korean ICT startups in pioneering the African market, centering on participation in GITEX Africa 2025, the continent’s largest ICT exhibition. Through the operation of the Korea Pavilion, participation in the IR pitching competition (Supernova Challenge), and business meetings with local buyers and investors, the program sought to provide concrete opportunities for market entry.

  The participating startups remarked, “We have attended many global exhibitions before, but this was the first time we experienced such an enthusiastic response and clear results,” adding that it was a meaningful opportunity to validate both their technologies and market potential.

  Notably, following GITEX Africa, the participating startups have achieved tangible outcomes, including successful local sales contracts through ongoing follow-up actions, PoC collaborations with major African telecommunications companies and local partners, participation in World Bank projects, and consideration of establishing local subsidiaries.

  This program goes beyond simple exhibition participation. It holds great significance in that it demonstrated the applicability of Korean technologies tailored to local demands in Africa and laid the groundwork for real business implementation. The Korea-Africa Foundation will continue to support the global expansion of domestic startups and the strengthening of innovation ecosystem cooperation with Africa.
