The Korea-Africa Foundation held the closing ceremony of the 7th Youth Supporters on Friday, September 5.

Launched with an inauguration ceremony and orientation on March 7, this year’s program brought together 29 participants (23 Korean youths and 6 African students in Korea) for six months of activities aimed at raising awareness of Africa and promoting the Foundation’s initiatives. Throughout the program, the Youth Supporters not only created individual content but also carried out group projects that allowed them to experience each other’s cultures, fostering meaningful exchange and deeper mutual understanding.

The closing ceremony began with a capacity-building lecture by Mr. Wonnyoung Kim, Director of Research & Studies, entitled “Korea-Africa Relations and the Links Around Us: From Chocolate to Summits.” This was followed by welcome remarks from Chairman Young-Chae Kim, the screening of a highlight video reflecting on the past activities, and the sharing of participants’ experiences. All supporters were awarded certificates of completion, with special recognition given to two outstanding supporters and one distinguished team.

The Korea-Africa Foundation firmly believes that the role of youth as a bridge between Korea and Africa is more important than ever. Building on the passion and achievements demonstrated by the 7th cohort, the Foundation looks forward to fostering new opportunities for cooperation and exchange led by young people.
