The screening introduced three African films that captured the diverse cultures, histories, and stories of life across the continent.
The featured films included Photocopy (Egypt), Barakat (South Africa), and 600: The Soldiers’ Story (Rwanda).
Each film authentically portrayed the social contexts and narratives of its respective country, leaving a strong impression on the audience.
Following the screening of Barakat, a guest talk (GV) was held with Mr. Ephraim Gordon, the film’s producer and co-writer, and Ms. Hwa-jeong Lee, a film journalist.
They shared engaging insights into the production process and the messages embedded in the film.
For the final screening, 600: The Soldiers’ Story, Mr. Claude Ganza, Counsellor at the Embassy of Rwanda in Korea, attended the event and gave a brief introduction to the film, offering reflections on Rwanda’s history and the significance of national reconstruction.
This event served as an opportunity to deepen understanding of African culture and to reaffirm the potential of public diplomacy through cultural exchange.
