2026 President John Dramani Mahama of Ghana Honorary Doctorate Conferment Ceremony and Special Lecture at Yonsei University (Seoul)

President John Dramani Mahama received an honorary Doctor of Public Administration degree at Yonsei University and delivered an acceptance speech on the theme of the strong partnership and future vision between Korea and Ghana.

The special lecture of this honorary doctorate conferment ceremony proceeded with a focus on retracing the paths of Korea and Ghana, which began establishing their modern national identities side by side in 1957, and emphasizing that the two countries should cooperate based on the shared values of “Excellence” and “Truth.”

In particular, he stressed the establishment of a “truly equal partnership” between the two countries beyond the traditional framework of donor and recipient, and presented a future vision in which the dynamism of Africa, which will become the core of the global youth population, and Korea’s experience in economic development are combined to achieve shared prosperity in a multipolar world order.

In addition, on this day, the President of the Korea-Africa Foundation, Kim Young-chae, also attended the event, adding significance to the continued exchanges and cooperation between the two countries.
