[2026 Korea-Africa Youth Camp Orientation Held]

The Korea-Africa Foundation held an orientation session on August 5 for 20 participants of the 2026 Korea-Africa Youth Camp. The participants included 10 third-year middle school students from the Jeonnam-Gwangju Integrated Special City and 10 second-year middle school students from Chuncheon-si.

The orientation was organized to deepen the students’ understanding of Africa and Egypt, this year’s camp destination, while helping them develop global competencies ahead of their participation in the camp.

The students took part in a variety of programs, △including “A Conversation with a Newly Appointed Diplomat,” led by Ms. Minji Ko, from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, △a visit to the Embassy of the Arab Republic of Egypt in Seoul and a conversation with Counsellor Ms. Abeer Faisal, and △ a lecture titled “An Exciting First Encounter and the First Steps as a Public Diplomacy Officer,” delivered by H.E. Hong Jin-wook, former Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Egypt.

Through these lectures, the participants gained a broader understanding of diplomatic work and public diplomacy, as well as Egyptian culture and society. The orientation also provided a meaningful opportunity for the students to build their global perspectives and further heighten their anticipation for the upcoming camp.
